"We didn't have any first place finishes, but we were a strong team as a whole," coach Cindy Carter said of the May 15- 16 meet held at St. Anne's. "We had thirds, fourths and fifths and a lot of those are Grade 9 stu- dents, so there's room to grow." The top six athletes in each Huron -Perth event earned a spot at the Western Ontario Secondary School Athletic Association (WOSSAA) meet at London's TD Waterhouse Stadium on May 23 and 24. And while she's not sure if any CHSS athletes will make it on to the provin- cial regionals, Carter hopes to see all 22 of her athletes record personal bests. "It's tough competition, but you never know, they may surprise me," she added.
