Deaths MALONEY, Frances: Peacefully at Seaforth Community Hospital, on Wednesday, May 9, 2007 after a courageous battle with cancer, Mrs. Mary Jean Frances (Fortune) Maloney of Seaforth. Beloved wife of Wilbert Maloney. Fran was born at RR #4 Seaforth on May 26, 1918 to Leo and Jean (Kenny) Fortune. Predeceased by brother Jack (1951) and by sister Madylene Case (1975). Fran graduated as a RN from the St. Marys School of Nursing in 1942 and worked many years at private duty nursing and clinic nursing and retired in 1972 from the Seaforth Medical Clinic to care for her mother. Friends were received at the Box and Smith Funeral Chapel, 47 High St., Seaforth, on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass was held at St. James Roman Catholic Church, Seaforth on Saturday, May 12, 2007 at 11 a.m. Interment St. James Cemetery, Seaforth. As a tribute to the life of Frances a tree will be planted in her memory. 42-20-1 MCILWAIN, George: Mr. George Walter Mcllwain, age 72, of Stratford passed away peacefully at the Stratford General Hospital on Wednesday, May 9, 2007. Born in Goderich, son of the late George Mcllwain and the former Florence Kingswell. George was a member of St. John's United Church and volunteered at Camp Bimini and Habitat for Humanity. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed woodworking, golfing and curling. He worked for many years at the Stratford Co-op. Beloved husband of Joan (Talbot) Mcllwain. Loving father of Steve Mcllwain and wife Karrie of Toronto and Lynn MacPhee and husband John of London. Dear grandfather of Jordan and Connor Mcllwain and Dawson MacPhee. George is survived by sisters Helen and husband Jack Crozier of Kincardine and Mary and Carl Merner of Clinton. George will also be remembered by many nieces and nephews. A memorial service was held at St. John's United Church, Stratford on Saturday, May 12, 2007 at 11 a.m. Greg and Laurie White, Ministers of St. John's United Church officiated. Interment followed in Avondale Cemetery Columbarium Wall.
