Because several of the students taking the RPN course are working as PSWs, Overholt says when they move into an RPN position, the PSW course will help fill the vacancies left behind. As well, she says there may be people working as PSWs currently without the formal training. Like the RPN course, the PSW course would be offered part-time to allow local res- idents to take the course two nights a week and allow students to continue working. Being offered in Seaforth, it would also prevent the need to travel outside the area to become qualified.
