Spring comes at last in Winthrop
What a beautiful last few days.
The flowers are coming out in
bloom and the snow is fast disap-
pearing. The farmers are out -in
full force getting the fields ready
for planting.

United Church was titled
"Thinking Outside the Box."
Greeters and collectors were Don
and Maja Dodds.
Rev. John also conducted a wor-
ship service at Huronlea on
Sunday afternoon. Ruth Campbell
assisted with the music.

in London were from the area were

Martin to Brinke, Jeff and Diane
Howson, Beatrice Campbell
(grandmother), Bob and Ruth,

Campbell.
Sympathy of the community is
extended to the Clark family on
the passing of their son and broth-
er Kyle.
Jim and Ann Bosman visited
Tracey and Paul McLennan in
London. Tracey recently returned
from a trip to Vimy Ridge with stu-
dents from South Huron High
School, Exeter.
While there she visited the
gravesite of Lloyd Papple, a
Seaforth area native, who was
killed in the Second World War. He
was a brother of Olave Little and

the late Gordon, Earl and Bill
Papple of this area.
She said it was an enlightening
and moving experience to all
involved in the 90th anniversary of
this event.
Is spring really putting an
appearance or teasing us? The lat-
est snow has almost disappeared
and temperatures are somewhat
warmer.
Rev. John's sermon at Cavan
United Church was titled "Living
Your Dash." This title puzzled me,
but listening to the sermon my
question was answered. The "dash"
refers to the line between your
birth and death dates. We should
make the most and live our best in
the space between these two
events.
Greeters and collectors were
Joyce Ribey and Ruth Campbell.
Coffee time is still being enjoyed
after the service.
Don't forget the upcoming Home
and Garden Show on April 25 at
the Agriplex.
An enjoyable day was spent at
Blyth Festival Theatre when the
Blyth United Church Women spon-
sored their annual Women's Day
Out. The theme this year was
"Hooked on Hobbies." Guest speak-
er was Sheila

FOOD FOR THOUGHT
Since it is
April I think
this "quote" is
appropriate -
everybody
