Bowlers raise $1,779 for Big Brothers, Big Sisters

Twenty-two bowlers raised
$1,779 for Big Brothers and
Big Sisters of North Huron
Saturday when the Bowl for
Kids' Sake fundraiser was
held in Seaforth for the first
time.
"We exceeded our expecta-
tions. It was a huge success
and it can only get better,"
says organizer Beth Collins.
The top single fundraiser
was Nick McGilvery, 15, of
Seaforth who raised $123
while the top team fundraiser
was the "Tennis Stars,"
including Olave Little, Gwen
Scott, Grace Corbett, Shirley
Stewart and Leona Nigh, who
raised $393.
Next year, Collins says the
fundraiser may be held on
Friday night instead of
Saturday morning to possibly
attract more bowlers.
"A lot of core bowlers might

A similar event in Goderich
attracted 41 bowlers who
raised $5,000.
Collins adds that Big
Brothers and Big Sisters of
North Huron are still looking
for seven "bigs" to partner
with little brothers and sis-
ters.
