Game 1 - Thurs. March 22
Walkerton 5 @ Seaforth 3
Goals: Cory Dawe, Alex Murray, Ben Van
Dieten.
Coaches Comments: It was a very close game,
penalties became a problem for Seaforth as we
seemed to not stay out of' the box. It was a very
close game otherwise.
Game 2 - Sat. March 24
Seaforth 6 ® Walkerton 4
Goals: Ian Murray, Kyle Robinson, Brad
McLaughlin, Chad Van Dyk, Cory Dawe x2.
Coaches Comments: Being down 4-0 Seaforth
rallied back to score 6 unanswered goals to lead
us to victory and tie up the series.
Game 3 - Tues. March 27
Walkerton 5 @ Seaforth 6 in OT
Goals: Shane Johnston, Cory Dawe x3, Kyle
Robinson, Caleb Ringgenberg.
Coaches Comments: With a tie game after 3
periods the game went into overtime. With 3:56
left Caleb Ringgenberg scored off of a rebound
shot to win the game and the series in OT.
Great goaltending by Cody Janmaat and very
hard work by the players are factors of
Seaforth's win. Seaforth won the Series 2
games to 1 to become WOAA Champions!!

Coaches Comment - Excellent game. Goalie
Eric Ryan played a great game to keep the

With the Maple Leafs brass
looking on, Cinderella story Boyd
Devereaux has cashed in on his
scoring opportunities during
Toronto's late -season
playoff push.
It appears
Devereaux might
cash in off the ice as
well.
Having scored
three goals in the
past three games
Devereaux was
happy and relieved at
the news the Leafs
have started prelimi-
nary contract talks
with his agent, J.P.
Barry.
In a rag -to -riches
season in which he
has found his scoring touch at the
right time, the fact that the Leafs
are showing interest in retaining
him is icing on Devereaux's cake.
"It's very exciting that things
are moving in that direction,"
Devereaux, 28, said yesterday as
he and his teammates prepared
for a big game in Atlanta against
the Thrashers tonight.
"It's certainly great to hear."
A modest one-way deal, presum-
ably for one season, is the likely
winfall for Devereaux, although
stages. Devereaux makes
$450,000 US this season.
Either way, any kind of job secu
rity would be welcomed by the
veteran forward.
Last fall, Devereaux found him-
self without a team. Upon being
released from the
camp of the Detroit
Red Wings, he won-
dered if his National
Hockey League
career was coming to
an end.
"It was a weird
time," he said. "I was
back in Kitchener,
thinking about
resuming skating
with the Rangers, my
junior team. I was
even thinking I
might go to Europe to
play."
Devereaux wound up accepting
Toronto's offer to join the
American Hockey League's
Marlies, paying his dues on the
farm before a rash of injuries to
the Leafs resulted in a call-up.
"Give him credit," general man-
ager John Ferguson said. "He
made a decision when he first
signed with us that he wanted to
rekindle his NHL career. It's not
like things came easy to him in
the AHL. He didn't start out the
way we had envisioned but he
ook advantage of his opportuni-
ies."

It's time to sign up again
for Ontario Seniors' Games

Seaforth will be hosting crokinole
again during the 2007 Ontario
Seniors' Games which run from
May 7 to June 14.
Last year, 29 Seaforth-area
seniors aged 55 and up competed in
11 different events.
"We're always hoping more people
will come out to the games. We're
hoping the younger generation will
get involved as they get old
enough," says organizer Beth Pryce.
Added to the 22 events offered
throughout Huron, Perth and
Middlesex Counties, Scrabble will
be offered for the first time this
year."'
As well, Pryce says events like
slo-pitch and bocce ball show how
the games are changing to reflect
the next generation getting
involved.
"There wasn't a Seaforth slo-pitch
