The Hensall Legion is hosting a roast beef dinner at Hensall Community Centre on Sunday March 25 at 5 p.m. At Carmel Presbyterian Church Tracy Whitson- Bahro was the minister with Joyce Pepper playing the organ. Joyce also gave the Lenten Reading. The offering was received by Bob Bell and Frank Varley. Hensall United Church presents a half chicken bar- becue on April 22 from 4 to 6:30 p.m. The Hensall and Cotnmunity Horticultural Society's annual spring workshop will take place this Saturday at Hensall United Church with registration beginning at 10 a.m. Victoria Serda will discuss what she learned from Al Gore on climate change. Brenda Campbell will discuss how to grow and use herbs. Brian Swaile from Trees Ontario will reveal "how to save the planet, one tree at a time." Winthrop couple proud first-time grandparents What sunny weather we are having in Winthrop even though there is a chilly breeze the snow is gradually disappearing. The Lenten presentation at Cavan United Church was given by Jim Rapson and Bud Eyre. Rev. John's sermon was titled "The End of the Beginning - The Beginning of the End." Greeters and collectors were Glen and Marg McClure. Next Sunday, ,March 25 is the final winter brunch at Cavan United, following the Sunday service. Everyone is welcome. Bud` and Mary Eyre are proud first time great grandparents of a baby boy born March 11 in - Stratford. Visiting with Doug and Vicki Campbell and girls on Saturday were Marion Peck of Clinton and Beatrice, Bob and Ruth Campbell. They helped Alaina Campbell celebrate her fourth birthday.
