Juvenile playoff run ends
"Wow, what a ride."
The Seaforth Juvenile Stars OMHA semi-
final playoff series against Ennismore ended
this weekend in front of a capacity crowd at
the Seaforth arena.
"For our first year we did fantas-
tic. I couldn't be prouder of our
team," coach Lisa Campbell said.
"Every single player went above
and beyond every game and I was
just thrilled with what we accom-
plished."
The Seaforth juveniles travelled to
Ennismore on Friday for game three
of the series, which was tied at one
game apiece.
Frustration set in right away, with
questionable officiating keeping the
Stars from mustering much of ani
offensive presence. However, with
just under three minutes left in the
second period, Darcey Cook snuck
one by the Ennismore goaltender on
a pass from Dave McClory to take
the lead.
The Stars came out a determined
crew in the final period, but were
rendered silent once again by the
official, leading to the Ennismore
team registering the tying goal.
Ennismore took the lead shortly
after with another powerplay marker
and then scored an insurance goal
before period end to take the game 3-
1.
Spectacular netminding by Josh
Nurse was the only thing that even
gave the Stars.a chance of coming
back in this contest.
Play would resume the following
day with the Stars facing their oppo-
nents with a somewhat depleted
squad and a repeat of the same style
of officiating from the previous game.
Ennismore hit the• board first, tak-
ing the lead, but the Stars held their
own until Ennismore added another
with minutes remaining in the second to make
the score 2-0.
The Stars continued battling in the third,
