In Nashville's RCA Studio B, where rock
and roll and country stars Elvis Presley, Roy
Orbison, Waylon Jennings and
Willie Nelson ,recorded, the %
Seaforth and District All -Girls'
Marching Band will be recording
its first CD.
"It's the first time we've done
any recording," says band execu-
tive member Penny Breen.
The 60 -member band is travel-
-ling to Nashville from March 9 to
16 where it will perform at
venues like the Grand Ole Opry,
the Country Music Hall of Fame
and Graceland.
Breen says the Nashville
Visitors' and Convention Bureau
invited the All -Girls' band to
visit Nashville during last year's
trip to Calgary.
"Nashville and Memphis were
part of the beginnings of the rock
and roll movement and that's the
Grand Ole Opry, the band will be visiting the
Opryland Resort and the Country Music Hall
of Fame.
When the girls record at the Hall of Fame's
RCA Studio B, the band will play
its "theme song" Pretty Woman
by Roy Orbison and another
song that hasn't yet been deter-
mined.
The studio is celebrating its
50th anniversary the same year
the band is marking its 50th.
"Roy Orbison did all his
recording there so it's pretty
appropriate that they record
Pretty Woman," says Breen.
The CD will also be played at
the Wild Horse Saloon, where
the girls will learn how to line
dance.
Before touring Graceland, the
band will play at the gates of
the Memphis mansion of Elvis
Presley. Breen says they are
j practising Don't Be Cruel and
All Shook Up for the perfor-
