County should take note of Bill 140 C h e r y l 11 eat h Barb Springall, manager of Huron County's homes department, said council should take note of part of the province's controversial Long - Term Care Homes Act (Bill 140T, which imposes personal liability on directors for failing to take all rea- sonable care to ensure their home meets all of the Act's requirements. Springall said the concern is the provisions are more rigorous than a hospital board director would face. She said the number of administra- tive measures in the Act will also mean more limited resources will have to be directed to paperwork. NOTICE NAVIGABLE WATER PROTECTION ACT R.S.C. 1985, CHAPTER N-22 The Corporation of the County of Huron hereby gives notice that an application has been made to the Minister of Transport pursuant to the Navigable Waters Protection Act for approval of the work described herein and its site and plans. Pursuant to Section 9 of the said Act, The Corporation of the County of Huron has deposited with the Minister of Transport, and in the office of the District Registrar of the Land Registry District of the County of Huron at Goderich under deposit number R344949, a description of the following work, its site and plans: repairs to the bridge carrying County Road 12 traffic over the Bayfield River, 0.01 km south of Egmondville, for 50m either side of the river Comments regarding the effect of this work on marine navigation may be directed to: The Superintendent, Navigable Waters Protection Program, Transport Canada, 100 Front Street South, Sarnia, Ontario N7T 2M4. However, comments will be considered only if they are in writing and are received not later than 30 days after the date of this notice. Don Pletch, County Engineer County of Huron Meals on Wheels The county learned the Huronlea Home for the Aged is working with Town and Country Support Services (TCSS) in order to develop a Meals on Wheels -type program for Brussels residents. Homes manager Barb Springall noted the program is managed by TCSS.
