Rest of Seaforth minor hockey teams busy over weekend with playoff action

As it turned out, the
Seaforth juvenile hockey
team was not ready to
hang up the skates just
yet on their inaugural sea-
son.

Minor Hockey Association
quarter finals Sunday
evening in Seaforth to
advance to the semi finals
against Ennismore.
After a 4-4 tie Feb. 24,
Seaforth fought to a nar-
row 4-3 victory in Game 5.
"Everyone feels fantas-
tic. We're just thrilled,"
says Lisa Campbell.
"The series was so close
and our guys knew head-
ing into Game 5 they had
to pick it up a notch - and
they did."
Games 1 and 2 of the
best of five semi finals
series go this weekend in
Seaforth.
Campbell adds that the
support towards the juve-
niles from players' family
and friends, as well as the
entire community, has
been tremendous.
Seaforth's atom rep team
turned out to be not as
lucky as the juveniles this
past weekend, losing
against Tavistock to be
eliminated from the
OMHA first round series.
"We played awesome,"
says coach Gerard Ryan.
"(Tavistock) was a tough
squad."
In Game 3 of the series
Feb. 21, the atoms lost 5-
1, and fell again in over-
time in Game 4 4-3.
With 45 seconds remain-
ing in Game 4, Tavistock
scored to take a one goal
lead, but Seaforth bounced
back with a goal of their
own with only 28 seconds
left to push the game to
overtime - where they lost.
Ryan says Tavistock was
undefeated during the reg-
ular season and they knew
heading in it was going to
be a difficult series.

'Alex and Kody are both new to

CHSS coach Scott Middleton said.
"Matt and Adam both have more

they'll move on to OFSAA next
year."
With many of his swimmers plan-
ning to return next year, Middleton
added the team is "looking good" for
the 2007-08 season.
