The Hensall and Community
Horticultural Society will hold their
meeting on the evening of Monday,
Feb. 12 at Hensall United Church.
The guest speaker will be Linda
from Lakewood Nursery.
A new feature for this meeting
will be sweet sampling. Everyone is
welcome to come to the church at
6:30 p.m. to taste and buy some
homemade treats.
We hope to have candy -and cook-
ies made by 18 gardeners turned
cooks to celebrate Valentine's Day.
It is now time to buy 2007 mem-
berships. To encourage early birds
Church service cancelled
February has
arrived with a
vengeance.
Listening to the
radio, every road seems to be closed
so the kids will have another snow
day.
Because of uncertain weather,
church was cancelled at Cavan
United. The last Sunday for voting
for a new elder will now be on Feb.
11. Also Cavan's Annual Meeting
will be held on Feb. 11.
Note Cavan's service will be at 11
a.m. with the meeting following
lunch. West side of County Rd. 12 is
to bring sandwiches and the east
side is to bring dessert. Northside
service is at 9:30 a.m. for this week.
On Friday, Brian and Carolann
Campbell, Beatrice Campbell and
Bob and Ruth Campbell travelled to
Ron and Darlene Campbell's place
in London to celebrate Beatrice's
birthday. Also present were Vince
and Sheila Nicol of London. Memory
reminds me that we had similar
weather last year at this time.
Bob and Ruth Campbell travelled
to Blyth on Friday to celebrate Joel
Howson's third birthday. Coming
home around 6 p.m. was quite a trip
- roads weren't bad but visibility
wasn't good.
