Radars head into playoffs with pair of wins
The Clinton Radars won their final
two regular season games, and fin-
ished first in the WOAA South
Division and will now face either
Elora or Palmerston. The two
teams face off tonight (Wednesday)
in Elora. The Radars will play who-
ever loses that game.
On Friday night in Clinton, the
Radars fell behind early to
Milverton trailing 3-1 after the first
period. Dan Easter scored the lone
Clinton goal.
In the second, Wes Neild scored
the only goal to get the Radars
within one.

Just 43 seconds in to the third
period, Mark VanDooren rifled a
shot past Drives goalie Elliott Faust
to even the score at 3-3, while a 1:15
later Craig Smith flipped a shot
over Faust to give the Radars their
first lead.
Two and half minutes later, Matt
Anderson scored to make it 5-3 for
the home team. The Drives contin-
ued to play hard and eventually tied
the game at 5-5.
With no scoring in overtime, the
game went to a shoot-out.
Jason Grenier and Luke Vick
scored while Greg Klatt stopped all
four Milverton shooters to give the
Radars a 6-5 win. Klatt returned to
the Radars line-up after being side-
lined for nearly six weeks with an
injury.
In Tavistock on Saturday, the
Radars came out firing and took an
early 2-0 lead on goals from
VanDooren and M. Anderson. After
Tavistock cut the lead to one goal,
Easter scored the Radars third goal.
The Royals turned the tables on
the Radars in the second, as they
scored twice in the first two minutes
to even the game at three goals
apiece. With 5:24 left in the period,
Nick Elligsen scored to put the
Radars up by one heading in to the
third.
Only 1:20 in to the period, Luke
Vick's goal made it 5-3. After the
Royals got within one, Vick added
his second to finish the scoring.
Chuck Robertson shut the door on
Tavistock the rest of the way to help
his team to the 6-4 victory. Steve
McInally picked up three assists for
the Radars.
