Novice Jan. 27 Seaforth 2 Goderich 2 Goals: Holdyn Lansink, Jake Finlayson Coaches' Comments: The Seaforth Novice finished their regular season on a high note. After having been trounced by Goderich in the previous three games, the players pulled out all the stops and showed Goderich what they are capable of. Liam Melady played a strong game in net for two periods as did Gavin Campbell in the third keeping the team in the contest. With over a minute left and down by one, Seaforth pulled their goalie and Jake Finlayson managed to tie it up during a scramble in front of the net. With the momentum now in their favour, Seaforth mounted several more chances in the dying seconds of the game, but could not put it in the net for the win. It was an excellent effort by all players. Senior Mites Jan. 20 Brussels 14 Seaforth 1 Goal: Logan Finlayson Coaches' Comments: Despite coming up against a much older and stronger squad, the Seaforth Mites continued to play hard and never quit which resulted in a single goal later in the game. Game 2 Minto 7 Seaforth 5 Goals: Riley Looby 3, Logan Finlayson 2 Coaches' Comments: Seaforth started out flying with a quick three -goal lead early in the game, however, the Mites were unable to match the endurance of Minto who was playing their first game of the day. The smiles on the faces of the players after the tournament indicate it is more about playing the game than it is about winning. Great sportsmanship was shown by all the Mites this weekend both on an off the ice. Coaches Comment - This round of playoff games is the best 3 out of 5. The boys had a great game of passing the puck and playing like a team, which these boys have no problem of doing.
