Parr Line
winners in
all-Seaforth
women's final
From Page 13
In the women's final, it wasn't a last -sec-
ond goal, but an 'ugly goal' that turned out
to be the winner in overtime for Parr Line
over Polar Ice.
"The goal wasn't the prettiest, but the
game was really good," said Poirier, explain-
ing that the winning goal came about five
minutes into overtime from a surprise shot
from a difficult angle.
As for the rest of Seaforth's teams, on the
men's side, the Hitmen A were eliminated in
the semi-finals, while the Hitmen B,
Winthrop and the Snipers were eliminated
in the second round.
And on the women's side, the Assassins
finished fourth and the Witches of Broom
finished third, while the only other women's
team competing - the Harriston
Moonshiners - finishing fifth.

Six Seaforth teams in action
From Page 13
"Belle teams have the fewest numbers of
girls across Ontario," Campbell points out,
noting that players at that level are between
the ages of 16-18, and can be busy with jobs
and school - making it increasingly difficult to
attend weekend tournaments.
The rest of Seaforth's teams - two bunnies
and one novice, petite, tween and ladies - will
all be in action at the tournament.
However, the bunnies will only be partici-
pating in an exhibition event around noon on
Saturday.
Each team is guaranteed three games
through the round-robin format. The last four
hours of Sunday's action will include each of
the championship games.
"Parents with young girls that aren't
involved with any other sports should come
out and watch, especially on Saturday (when
the bunnies play). It's a great opportunity for
anyone thinking about getting involved,"
notes Campbell.
He adds that there will also be
draws for various gift baskets and a
photographer there to take pictures
during the games.
While the competition is sure to be
beneficial for the girls involved,
Campbell points out there is a bene-
fit for the town as well.
"We have nine teams, 120 girls
coming to Seaforth, and they bring
with them 120 parents. There
should be some economic benefit by
the end of the weekend."
He adds that the tournament will
be the first opportunity for the girls
to show off their new jerseys, which
were donated to them recently by
various local businesses and service
groups.
Admission for the tournament is
free.
