Parish from Seaforth, Clinton and Mitchell
recreate and film "The Story of Bethlehem"
Sunday, Jan. 7, the congregation
of St. Thomas Anglican Church,
Seaforth was treated to a filmed
version of the Nativity, entitled
"The Story of Bethlehem" performed
by the children of the Parish of the
Holy Spirit in Seaforth, Mitchell
and Clinton.
The youngsters had spent two
Saturdays with "directors" Jane
Whittemore and Teri Flinders -
Butson of Trinity Church, Mitchell,
reenacting those days in Bethlehem
so long ago.
Through the generosity of
Seaforth-area farmer, David
Schneider, filming was "on loca-
tion."
There was a changing cast of
characters depending on who was
there that day but thanks to appro-
priate costumes, the person wearing
the blue shawl was Mary.
The farmyards provided bunnies,
kittens and a donkey and a special
trip was made to the farm of
Carmen and Maryanne Drost, also
of Seaforth, so the shepherds could
be filmed with their flocks.
The angels were "on high" with a
boost from large hay bales in the
stable as they serenely overlooked
the gathering below.
