On the women's side, Seaforth's four teams will be joined by only one team from Harriston. "It's very low," said Dearing of the turnout this year for the women's competition, noting that they usually attract at least eight or nine teams. Dearing added that there are two other broomball tournaments being held this weekend in Ontario, which probably negatively affected their turnout. As a result of the low turnout, the men's teams are guaranteed two games, while the women are guaran- teed three. Another change this year is it will cost nothing for fans to come and watch. While in the past it has only cost around $3 a day to watch, Dearing said they dropped the entry fee in hopes of attracting as many fans as possible. By choosing to hold the tournament in Brussels how- ever, Dearing said organizers realize they will probably have fewer people travel to watch the games, but they still felt it was the right move. "We will get less spectators, but Seaforth just isn't the ideal location anymore. (Having no bar near the ice) is just the drawback of the gym being there," he added. However, Dearing said he understood the decision to replace the bar with a gym. "(The gym) will make more money there in ,a week than we would in a year." Hitmen coach Rob Hunking said he was informed on Dec. 20, nearly three weeks after Regina, Sask., was chosen as the new location. The tournament was originally scheduled for Lethbridge, Alta., but organizers there dropped out of hosting in early November. After a presentation was made by Quebec and Saskatchewan representatives on Dec. 2, a vote was conducted electronically by the Canadian Broomball Federation board members - with Saskatchewan receiv- ing the most votes.
