AUBIN: In loving memory of a dear mother,
grandmother and great grandmother Helen
Aubin, who passed away December 4, 2004.
So often do we reminisce
And share a laugh or two,
Fondly telling stories of the things you'd say or
do.
Your memory is our keepsake
With which we'll never part,
God has you in his keeping
We have you in our hearts.
Sadly missed and remembered, Stew, Peggy
Lou and families.
Also missed and remembered is Mom's brother
and wife William (Bill Farquharson, November 2,
2005 and Erica (Micky) Farquharson, December
15, 2005. 46-49x1 cc
NIGH, David: In loving memory of a devoted
husband, father and grandpa who passed away
Dec. 11, 2002.
You suffered much in.silence,
Your spirit did not bend,
You faced your pain with courage,
Until the very end.
You tried so hard to stay with us,
Our loss became your gain,
God took you in his loving arms,
And freed you from the pain.
It isn't what we write
Or even what we say,
It's what we feel within our hearts,
As we think of you today.
- Forever loved and missed, Kathy, Shelly, Ron,
Brayden, Sheldon, Karen, Matt, Katelyn and
David, Mike, Catrina and Selina 46-49x1

SEAFORTH UONS CLUB
On behalf of the Seaforth Lions Club we would
like to say a big Thank -You for making our 24th
annual Santa Claus Parade such a huge
success. Thanks to the Legion for making it
comfortable for Santa to hand out the candy to
the many children. Thanks also to the generosity
of the Merchants and the Municipality of Huron
East. I think by the number of spectators,
Seaforth's main street, our community and the
surrounding area is alive and well 'and a great
place to live and work. Also, you can't have a
parade without bands, floats, walking groups, or
whatever your entry may have been, and for this
we say a big Thank -You. We couldn't have done
it without you! - Ross Ribey and Joe Steffler,

Rutledge still looking
for local veterans to
share their memories
Gerard Creces
GIIIIIIIEMIIIIMIIMIIIIIM
Residents of Huron
County are being asked to
help preserve the
memories of our war
history.
Local writer Jim
Rutledge has been hard at
work collecting
information on the war
dead of Huron County - a
search that has now
spanned not only
provinces, but continents.
An open call for
information lastyear
resulted in more than 800
letters, messages and
phone calls to Rutledge,
enabling him to gather
information from people
who knew the 196
veterans who left Huron
County for the Second
World War, never to.
return.
This time, he is asking
for the public's help in
collecting information on
remaining veterans,
including those from
Korea and Afghanistan.
The information being
sought can be broken
down as follows:
-full name, rank, service
number, regiment, ship or
squadron, hometown,
where the person enlisted,
where and when they
trained, when and where
they were overseas, when
did the person return to
Canada as well as
information about their
experiences.
Recently, Rutledge
received a letter from a
man in England who
somehow learned of his
book and wanted
information on a man he
knew from a Second
World War air base in
England.
Upon researching the
base,"Rutledge was able to
add another four names to
the list of those he is
honouring in his book.
"How did he hear about
what I was doing all the
way in England?" asked a
surprised Rutledge. The.
answer to that question
may have to wait a month
or two, as he mailed off
his response just this
week.
Over the course of his
writing, Rutledge has
come across a few
obstacles. Cost is a huge
factor, as is a need for
accuracy and cross
"referencing his
information.
Currently he is
planning a trip to Ottawa
to visit the National
Archive.

County council sets
$26 an hour for
housing department
County council approved a $26 an hour set wage for
contract staff working for the housing department,
though a few councillors thought the figure was too
low.
Coun. Bernie MacLellan (Huron East) suggested a
$40 -an -hour rate might be more in line with the times.
Warden Rob Morley (South Huron) argued by
keeping the rate lower, the county will have some say
in the standard of work on site.
Council approved the $26/hour figure.
