CHSS
boys wins
cons • lation
attourrlEy:
The CHSS senior boys' basketball
team finished pre -season play on a
high note, bringing- home a banner
for the school's new gymnasium.
Despite being slightly under-
manned, the Redmen managed to
Capture the consolation champi-
onship title at the South Huron
District High School Panthers' annu-
al tournament.
CHSS started the tournament
against a strong Petrolia Lancers
team on Friday afternoon. They
came out flat, and spotted the
Lancers a large lead due to sloppy
play.
Working away at the lead in the
second half, the Redmen got it down
to a six -point difference in the fourth
quarter, but CHSS was unable to
recover from its earlier mistakes.
This loss put the Redmen into the
consolation side.
The Redmen dominated their sec-
ond game against the host Exeter
team from start to finish, and won
by over 30 points thanks to a strong
defensive performance that held the
Panthers to about 20 points.
Moving on to the consolation
finals, CHSS faced the North
Lambton Marauders from Parkhill.
