Comrade Cheryl Nuhn and Comrade .Linda Gridzak have done a super job on membership drives and we are now at 90 per cent paid up members. The winners of the Oct. draw were Phylis Brown, Brian Barry, Moe Huard and Harry Scott. At the Remembrance Dinner Ladies Aux . Pres., Mary DeJong pre- sented the Branch with a cheque for $3,000 to be put towards the Legion's new sign. Many thanks Ladies. The Boy Scouts and Cubs with their lead- ers toured the Branch with curator Comrade Jim Watson and were amazed at all the displays in the showcases. The cribbage on. Monday nights has started for the winter and everyone is welcome to come and take "t'at(orth Legion part. Zone C-1 Euchre at Blyth 420 Jan. 20, 2007. Deadline Jan. 6. Sign up sheets at the Branch. •A seminar will be held in Stratford Nov. 25 and Nov. 26 for the Veteran Service Officers. Comrade Dave Watson is in charge of the New Year's Eve Dance with Chris Black's Band. We are also holding a dance Dec. 2nd with the Dixon Friends Band. Comrades Doug Smale and Mike Smale are in charge of the float for the Santa Claus Parade. Volunteers' help would be appreciated. At the Legion Ladies Auxiliary bazaar the win- ner of the quilt was Betty Hulley and the baby quilt winner was Dawn Riley. To any comrades who are not feeling the very best, bundle up the winter is coming. At the going down of the sun and in the morning we will remember them. Ann Wood P.R.O. rm machinery parade Dec. 2 Cavan United Church_ held its regular Sunday service this past Sunday. The title of Rev. John's sermon was "In Praise of the First Coming." Greeters and collectors were Carol and Francis Hunt. Please note next Sunday's service is at 11 a.m. and Northside ser- vice is at 9:30 a.m. A potluck lunch will follow at the Cavan ser- vice. Everyone welcome. Don't forget the Santa Claus parade in Seaforth this Friday evening and the craft show, etc. too. The following weekend (Dec. 2) is the annual Sawmill Road farm machin-. e r y Christmas parade.
