"It was a lot of fun," said CHSS coach Scott Middleton, earlier this week. "We've got a lot of swimmers with no competitive experience, so it would have been easy for them to have given up, but they didn't." Zbpping the list of notable perfor- - mances at the meet for Central Huron was Alex Cardno, who fin- ished first in the junior boys' 50 breast event. Coming in with second -place fin- ishes was Joselyn Bartliff inthe open senior girls' 50 freestyle and the open senior girls' 100 freestyle events, Josh Butt in the junior boys' 100 free, Lindsay Gibson in the senior girls' 100breast and Matt Fisher in the senior boys' 100 breast. With third-place finishes was Kody Jacobs in the junior boys' 50 back event, Grant Bolton in the senior boys' 100 back and Emily Walraven in the junior girls' 50 back. Meanwhile, St. Anne's swimmers came away from the meet with eight first place finishes. "The junior girls are very strong," said St. Anne's coach Terrie Van Osch. "I was actually quite amazed at how well they did," considering they've only had three practises so far this season, she added.
