"I'll listen to people and I want to get along. Right now the municipality's a little divided and I want to listen to people and bring it back to a happy community," he says. Maloney, who has 22 years' experience on councils in Hibbert Township, West Perth and Huron East and owns the Seaforth Laundromat and is part-owner of the Seaforth Bake Shop, says his approachability is one of his best attributes. "I like to be fair to everybody and I've a personality I think people trust," he says. During his three years as Seaforth councillor, Maloney says he's mostly been a team player but did take the lead pushing for water and sewer servicing on Ord and Louisa Streets to open up the land for development. "I was an instigator but it was a council decision," he says. He adds he was one of the See MALONEY, Page 10
