Rapsons return from
trip to Maritimes
There was no service
at Cavan United
Church as it was the
142nd anniversary ser-
vice at Northside United.
Susan Campbell and
daughter Wendy lit the
Christ candle: The Senior
Choir contributed two
numbers. There was also
special music by Susanna
Lyman and Jeannette
Sears.
Guest speaker was
Dave MacDonald who is
the weatherman from
CKCO TV and general.
manager of Faith 'FM.
His topic was` "How can
we be of service."
Next Sunday there is
no service at Northside as
it is the anniversary ser-
vice at Cavan. All are
welcome when Rev. Jane
Kuepfer will be the guest
speaker.
Jim and Diane Rapson
recently returned from a
fall escape to the
Maritimes. It included
visits to the north shores
of the Ottawa and St.
Lawrence Rivers, the
Plains of Abraham and
the old walled city at
Quebec City.
They next travelled
through the Saguenay
Valley, Gaspe Peninsula
and down New
Brunswick's east coast.
They next toured PEI
end to end and the Cabot
Trail on Cape Breton.
They also explored the
west coast of
Newfoundland and found
the scenery breathtaking.
In Nova Scotia, they
visited Halifax, Peggy's
Cove and the tide at
Truro. They stopped at
the world's longest cov-
ered bridge in New
Brunswick.
They also visited a
carvers' museum and
Levis Forts National
Historic site in Quebec.
Jim says only when you
leave home do you discov-
er the size and grandeur
of this country Canada.
The highlight of their
trip was the friendliness
of the people they met.
He also says travel is
great but there is no
place like home.
Beatrice Campbell of
Winthrop and Betty
McLean, of Egmondville,
spend the weekend in
Lions Head.

Enjoy life - this is not a
