the stress wave' session
Queensway Nursing and
Retirement Home residents
with their guests enjoyed a
delicious turkey dinner with
all the trimmings Sunday,
Oct. 15.
Auxiliary volunteers Edna
Dietz, Betty Simmons,
Mariette Bilcke and Lillian
Beer assisted with the special
event.
Hensall United Church
women provided assistance
and prizes for the Monday
afternoon bingo game and
they will be doing so each
Monday in October.
Tuesday's church service
was led by Paster Elly Van
Bergen of the Varna and
Goshen United Churches

was in Wednesday to orga-
nize the euchre games and
provide guidance for those
who. are a bit rusty with the
euchre playing skills..
Dr. Kate Partridge led an
informative session entitled,
"Surfing the stress wave" on
Thursday evening in the
retirement residence activa-
tion room.
She discussed the benefits
of decreasing stress, leading
those in attendance through
breathing exercises and help-
ing them identify their par-
ticular stressors. She also
donated one of her relaxation
CDs to the retirement home.
Friday evening, there was a
wonderful turnout for the.
popcorn and comedy night
with a video of Red Skelton's
performance in Kitchener's
Centre in the Square.
This past week was a busy
one at Queensway with resi-
dents benefitting from mas-
sage with Lori Burt RMT,
music therapy with Lisa
Stewart, breakfast group,
exercises, manicures and
crafts.

The Catholic Women's
League regional meeting will
be held at Holy Name of
Mary parish hall in St. Marys
on Saturday, Oct. 28. Any

Vandals use spray paint
on Vanastra business
A large quantity of spray
paint was used to vandal-
ize the Canadian Solid
Wood furniture business
in Vanastra sometime
between Oct. 8 and 9,
reports the Huron OPP.
Located on 7th Ave,
Vanastra, the business
had several items painted
on its brick wall.
