That is one point on a lengthy list being reviewed by Midwestern Adult Day Services in its research as to whether a support group for stroke survivors is warranted in the region. During a focus group to discuss the idea at the Clinton office, coordinator Tammy Antaya spoke with a half-dozen stroke survivors and caregivers about the possibility of getting a regular group going. Antaya heard from stroke survivors - including• a farmer, businesswoman and homemaker - that there are many reasons why a support group is a sound idea. For one, the meetings would give stroke survivors - some of whom live alone in rural areas and get few visitors - a chance to get out and socialize, thereby avoiding the type of depression- that can often. descend on a 47.
