Cards of Thanks MCQUAID The family of the late Wilfred McQuaid would like to sincerely thank our fami- ly, friends and neighbours for their expressions of sympathy and kindness during the recent loss of a husband, father and grandfather. The floral trib- utes, donations, cards, as well as food brought to the house (my fridge had never been so full), and support for our family was deeply appreciated. We wish to extend a heartfelt thank you to Father Chris Gillespie for his service at the funeral mass and words of support. To Bea Kale, Rosemary Flannagan and Mary Catherine Lane who participated in the service' and to Jayne Walsh, Lucille Panziera (the Delaney sisters) for the wonderful music. To Tom Burke, Kevin Kale and Bea Kale for their role as Lectors. Thanks to Barbara and Catherine Douglas for bringing our sister Madonna to and from the Toronto airport and to the grandchildren who acted as pallbearers. Thank you to St. James Catholic Church for so many years of celebration of faith for our family. To the Catholic Women's League for the lovely lunch fol- lowing the service. To Doctor Shepherd who Wilfred had the pleasure of having as a doctor in the recent years and for all the excellent care. Thank you to all his caregivers including the nurses at the Seaforth Community Hospital during his recent stay, with a special mention to Vera Edgar and Vicki Dalrymple at the Seaforth Manor, and including the folks in Goderich Also to all the caregivers at Queensway in Hensall where he stayed recently, for their excellent care. To Ross Ribey, Ruth Townsend and staff at Whitney- Ribey Funeral Home for the great job they did providing guidance, kindness and support including their patience. It's nice to live in a community where everyone is your BEST FRIEND. - Dolly McQuaid and family 47-38-1 Sports MacLeod hopes for chance at $300,000 From Page 13 for the super finals Oct. 14, which includes only the top 10 two-year-old trotters, as ranked in the OSS by points. Qualifying for the race, which has a top earning of $300,000, _depends on how well Catch My Korvette races this weekend, because several horses are close behind in the standings. MacLeod says he is still :,m-4":, blown away at how well his horse has performed in his first year of competi- tion. And, apparently so are many of the other owners, says MacLeod. "I'm just the little guy. This is my first horse and I bred him myself. I'm not supposed to be here." "But every once in a while, one of us just gets lucky."
