Blyth Festival Singers
preparing for three
concerts in new season
The Blyth Festival Singers are
ready for a new season with great
music and three outstanding con-
certs.
Anyone who enjoys
singing in an excellent
community choir is
invited to join the 27th
season of the Blyth
Festival Singers.
Rehearsals for the
2006-07 season are held
in the June Hill Room,
above the Blyth Festival
administration offices.
The Blyth Festival
Singers is one of Hufbn
County's finest choirs,
with more than 50
members and offering
soprano, alto, tenor, and
bass harmonies and
professional leadership
with director Robert
Blackwell and accompa-
nist Sharon Johnston.
Blackwell says of the
choir, "The singers who
make up our unique
community are diverse,
but they share a pro-
found passion for singing."
"The season will offer both well-
known compositions and those that
may not be as familiar, but all the
music will be presented in a dynam-
ic and moving fashion," he adds.
The choir will prepare for three
concerts this season.

Stanley Complex,
Varna and featuring
the Dukes of Dixie
band.
New members are
welcome to join the
choir. Rehearsals are
regularly held on
Wednesday evenings in
Blyth. Membership in the
choir is $100 for adults and $50 for
students.

Kora Bennett is big winner
at dairy club challenge
Kora Bennett, of Seaforth, was the
big winner during a 4-H dairy club's
Gencor Challenge West in Stratford
on July 13 and 14.
She won champion showperson,
top senior competitor and overall
grand champion in a competition of
169 dairy club members.
