To the Editor,
I want to thank and commend our Huron
East Council for their decision in the planning
of the lagoon/sewage expansion.
Your decision to size the plant now to include
Egmondville in the future shows us, the resi-
dents of Egmondville, that a) the team of Huron
East Council has excellent planning skills for
appy Huron East
lagoon planning
the future and b) you do care about our little
town of Egmondville.
It may be years before Egmondville ever
hooks up to the sewage plant, but at least now
you have planned for it.
With the province warning municipalities
that all systems will be user -pay by 2011, we
appreciate that you are doing this now while
the province is providing grants/funding for
sewer and water.
Thanks again,
Ray Chartrand

Current fair ambassador looking forward to one
of Seaforth's most exciting fall events
To the Editor,
One of the most exciting events in Seaforth is
approaching quickly. It is a time when the
whole community and surrounding area comes
together in a time of fun and fellowship. I am
talking about the Seaforth Fall Fair.
I just wanted to write in to the Huron
Expositor to tell everyone why I am personally
excited for Sept. 7-10.
Like everyone else in this quaint town, I look
forward to seeing the parade each year with all
of the school- children dressed in their class
themes, followed by a day full of rides, games
and searching the round house to see h_ ow all of
the hard work has finished.
You cannot forget to mention the amazing
food. and candy that comes along with this
exhilarating weekend. Of course, I always
looked forward to showing my Jersey calf in the
4-H show.
One of the biggest highlights for me is the
Ambassador program. Young men arid women
have the opportunity to stand on stage and
share their views. It is the chance for them to
be an ambassador not only for our Agricultural
Society, but be ambassadors for agriculture;
which is a topic that is close to everyone's heart.
It makes me feel confident that the future of
Canada and Canadian agriculture will be
secure in the hands of these future leaders.
New this year is the Junior Ambassador pro-
gram, held on Saturday, where younger individ-
uals get their chance to shine. On Saturday
there is going to be an Ambassador pie -eating
competition, where the Senior Ambassador con-
testants get the chance to show the public what
they are really made of
Of course, you cannot forget the dance on
Saturday night! Certainly a social highlight.
Sunday afternoon sees a new attraction this
year, the lawn mower pull guarantees to have
the crowd cheering for their favourite tractor. I
know I can't wait to see it.
I have enjoyed my year as Seaforth
Ambassador and with a happy, but sad feeling I
am looking forward to passing on my crown to a
new individual who will be as honoured as I
was to represent the Seaforth Agricultural
Society and my home town. I hope to see every-
one between Sept. 7-10.
All the best,
Kora Bennett
