Seaforth holds first evening tournament
Seaforth Lawn Bowling
Club held their first evening
tournament Friday, August
4 sponsored by Wayne and
Harold Smith Construction.
Three eight end games were
played starting at 6:30 p.m.
First prize went to Glenn
and Glennis Kane of
Stratfor,�d, second to Dave
and Selena Ducklow,
Mitchell, third to Erich and
Joyce Matzold, Seaforth,
fourth to Barb and Rick
,Elliott of Seaforth and con-
solation to John Munro and

Marie Muir.
Bowling in Woodstock
men's pairs Saturday,
August 5 saw Jack Muir and
Rick Elliott winning first
prize, while Neil Beuerman
and Rick Wood placed fifth.
Sunday, August 6, eleven
greens were in play at the
Seaforth Greens, sponsored
by Culligan Real Estate.
First prize went to Len
Boreham and Marilyn
Lancaster of St. Marys.
Second to Shirley and
Dennis Schmidt of Goderich,
third Moe Cosyn and Carol
Fuller of Woodstock. High
two game winners were
Jack and Marie Muir and
7th was Erich and Joyce
Matzold of the home club.
Tuesday evening, Aug. 8.
three Seaforth teams
bowled in Mitchell at their
evening tournament, spon-
sored by Scotia Bank.
Three ten end games were
played with Jack and Marie
Muir first, Neil and Donna
Beuerman third, and Rick
Wood and Marion Smith
fourth. Also on Tuesday Lee
Ryan and Carol Carter
placed third at New
Hamburg. Carol left this
weekend to fly to Regina to
compete in the Canadian
ladies fours lawn bowling
championship.
In men's pairs at Exeter,
Aug. 9 Fred Tilley and
Kevin Rumig won fifth.
Saturday, Aug. 12 saw
Jack and Marie Muir win-
ning first again in the tour-
nament at Clinton Greens,
sponsored by Clinton
Raceway.
Three Seaforth teams
bowled in ladies pairs at
Stratford last Friday, spon-
sored by Tim Hortons. Carol
Carter and Pat Standeaven
of Woodstock were the win-
ners.
A pre -anniversary tourna-
ment meeting was held at
the club house Thursday to
plan for thelargest tourna-
ment of the year.
