They lost by one goal in that game, against eventual tournament winner Goderich Credit Union. "It was close," Bolton said of the team's 2-1 loss. "It could have gone either way." The team played well, he said, though they were perhaps a little tired from a game against Goderich Silver earlier that day. That round-robin game began in lop -sided fashion, with St. Columban scoring the first five goals. They eventually allowed three, en route to a 6-3 victory. The team was short-handed for much of the tournament, playing with only two or three substitutes Bolton said. In Bolton's mind, however, neither of the Goderich games matched the quality of a round-robin game against Clinton. "I think the best game of the whole season was that Clinton game, even though we lost," Bolton said. "The guys really put out 110 per cent." The outcome of that contest was decided in the last 15 minutes of play, according to Bolton. `YOUR RENOVATION AND HOME SPECIALISTSI J Excavating Inc. The team's goaltend- ing was also quite strong, according to Bolton. Goaltenders Chris Whelan and Steve McClure "kept us in the game pretty well,', Bolton said. Whelan is the team's most valuable player this season, chosen because he is a good all-around player "who played well both as a goaltender and in the field, Bolton said. Receiving the most improved player award this year is Greg Murray. "He really developed a lot of skills and started to put more effort into his game," Bolton said.
