Meeting
addresses
use of land'
north of
hospital
Jeff Heochert

The possibility of a new
development adjacent to the
Seaforth Community
Hospital was discussed at a
meeting at town hall last
week.
Having looked over a
feasibility report conducted
and submitted by a company
out of Vaughan, ON,
members of both the Seaforth
Community Hospital Trust
and Huron East discussed
the report's,.findings.
The land being considered -
66 acres of farm land just
north of the Seaforth
Medical Centre, is owned by
the Hospital Trust.
However, the Trust is
working alongside the
municipality in terms of
moving ahead with the
development to. the next
stage.
At the meeting Trust chair
Ron Lavoie discussed the
possibility of a development
with Huron East Mayor Joe
Seili, Deputy -Mayor Bernie
MacLellan, Clerk-.
Administrator Jack
McLachlan and councillor
Lou Maloney.
"This is the initial step at
looking at the potential use of
the land," explained Lavoie.
"We want to move forward
in a cooperative manner,"
said Lavoie. "So that
whatever moves forward will
fit the plans of Huron East."
