Sealed submissions clearly marked as "Contract #2006-001 Landfill
Closure - 'Phase IIA" will be received by the Mid -Huron Landfill Site
Board until 1:30 pm, Eastern Standard Time on July 12, 2006 at the
Town of Goderich office, 57 West Street, Goderich, Ontario, N7A 2K5.
The scope of work generally includes the supply, placement and
compacting of low permeability soils for landfill closure. Also included is
the supply and placement of topsoil and hydroseeding.
Tender documents are available and can be obtained by contacting Mr.
Ken Hunter at the Town of Goderich office, 57 West Street, Goderich,
Ontario, N7A 2K5 or by calling 519-524-7308. Tender documents will
be released commencing June 28, 2006 and upon receipt of a non-
refundable cash or cheque payment of $100.00.
A mandatory Pre -Bid Conference will be held at the Site on July 5, 2006 at
10:00 a.m. Closing Date is : July 12, 2006 at 1:30 p.m. local time.
The Mid -Huron Landfill Site Board reserves the right to accept or reject
all or any bids and to waive informalities at its sole discretion. The lowest
or any bid will not necessarily be accepted. Bid award is subject to
approval by the Mid -Huron Landfill site Board.

STAFFEN, Glen: At Seaforth Community Hospital
on Thursday, June 15, 2006, Glen Staffen of
Seaforth, in his 77th year. Beloved husband of
Shirley (Mosher) Staffen. Dear father of Judy and
John Scarrow, David Staffen, Carol Barry and
friend Dennis Duquette, Sandra Montgomery and
John and Colleen Staffen, all of Seaforth. Loving
grandfather of nine grandchildren and four great-
grandchildren. Dear brother of Herbert and Ina
Staffen of Seaforth. Predeceased by a grandson
Robin Scarrow, a great-grandson Jessie Diehl and
his parents Melville and Annie (Herbert) Staffen.
Family received friends at the Whitney-Ribey
Funeral Home, Seaforth on Saturday from 7-9
p.m. and on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where
the funeral service was held on Monday, June 19
at 2 p.m. Pastor Mark Kennedy officiated.
Interment Maitlandbank Cemetery, Seaforth.
Pallbearers were Jason Scarrow, Kevin Barry,
Brad Barry, Jeff Barry, James Montgomery,
Shannon Montgomery, John Scarrow and Dennis
'Duquette. Flower bearers were Brandon Garniss,
Ana Staffen_ , Andrew Staffen and Nathan Staffen.

Nursing Home, on Friday, June 23, 2006, Mr. Ken
Chambers of Fordwich and formerly of Seaforth in
his 92nd year. Beloved husband of Bernice
(Brown) Chambers. Loving father of Robert and
Jackie Chambers of Wingham, Bill Chambers and
June Leno of Durham, Barbara and Paul Koch of
Hickson, and Brenda and Brad Borland of
Cambridge. Cherished grandfather of Dwight,
Dennis, Travis, Courtnee, Kenneth, Dede, Apryl,
Angelina, and Dakota. Great grandfather of
Desiree, Tyler, Dylan, Logan, Logan, and Ellise.
Dear brother and brother-in-law of Alice (Mrs. Will
Porter) of Goderich, Doris Chambers of Vanastra,
Vera Chambers, and Mary Chambers, all of
Goderich. Predeceased by brothers Harold,
Elgin, and Tom Chambers. At Ken's request there
was no funeral home visitation. A service of
remembrance was held at the Box and Smith
Funeral Chapel, 47 High St. Seaforth, on Tuesday,
June 27, 2006 at 2 p.m. Pastor Stephen
Hildebrand officiated. Cremation. As expressions
of sympathy memorial donations
to the Heart and Stroke
Foundation or the Canadian
Cancer Society would be greatly

WATER WELL RECORD UPDATE PROJECT
Beginning in late June, staff of the Ausable Bayfield Maitland
Valley Source Water Protection Project will visit landowners
in the Ausable, Bayfield, Maitland, Nine Mile and Shoreline
watersheds to verify Global Positioning System (GPS)
readings of non -municipal well locations.
This project will verify or improve upon existing local
records and gauge the accuracy of provincial well record
information. Field staff will also distribute literature on best
management practices for water wells; proper management
is central to maintaining a healthy water supply for you, your
family and future 'generations. Landowners will receive a
complimentary aerial photograph of their property, with well
location(s) clearly marked.
