SPS athletes return from system -wide
track meet with ribbons in hand

Twenty-one athletes from Seaforth
Public School competed last week in
the system -wide track meet held in
Stratford, against students from
across the Avon Maitland District
School Board.
Among the accomplishments, was,
four first, two second and six third
place finishes.
"I think they did awesome. They
were so excited getting off the bus
when they got

First place finishers were William
Ringgenberg in the peewee boys'
800 metre, Tabitha Arts in the pee-
wee girls' long jump, Ashley
Campbell in the peewee girls' stand-
ing long jump and Paul Doig in the
junior boys' 800 metre.
Second . place finishes went to
Tabitha Arts in the peewee girls'
high jump and Andrea Rowntree in
the intermediate girls' 400 metre.
Taking home third place ribbons
were William Ringgenberg in the
peewee boys' long jump,. Riley Ward
in the junior boys' high jump and
ball throw, Brandon -Sallows in the
senior boys' 400 and 800,metre and
Emily Lansink in the senior girls'
800 metre.
Other results include, fourth place
finishes for Joe Metzger in the pee-
wee boys' 100 metre, Luke Harrison
in the intermediate boys' 200 metre
and Emily Lansink in the senior
girls' 200 and 400 metre.
Fifth place finishers were Sean
Leonhardt in the peewee boys': high
jump, Courtney Hignell in the pee-
wee girls' ball throw and Katie Arts
in the intermediate girls' 800 metre.
Huron Centennial has .strong
showing at track meet in Stratford

A terrific track season for the athletes at
Huron Centennial Public School came to an
end last week with the system -wide track
meet in Stratford, where
athletes from across the
Avon Maitland District
School Board competed.
Huron Centennial sent
nine students to the track
meet, and they didn't dis-
appoint, says coach Jen
Moxham.

"The students put forth a really strong effort
and demonstrated a strong athletic ability
and sportsmanship towards the other com-
petitors."
Deanna Love captured second in the inter-
mediate girls' 400 metre and fourth in the 200
metre, while Magnus Claussen finished third
in the junior bays' long jump.
Other results include, fourth place finishes
for Shannon Murray in the junior girls' high
jump and 800 metre, and fifth place finishes
to Greg Wild in the intermediate boys' 200
and 800 metres and Rob Henderson in the
senior boys' shot put.
