McInally was hired by Central Huron Secondary School in 1966 when each school still had its own board of trustees. She became head secretary at Clinton's high school where she stayed until 1994 when she came to Seaforth District High School, which closed four years ago. • "Adeline played a valuable role in the school communi- ty in both sites and was readily available to assist administration, schoolstaff, and students. No job was too big or too much for Adeline!" says the speech from the recent award night. After that, she began working at the board office in Seaforth as a purchasing clerk. "I've seen a lot of changes," she'says, adding she's also seen the county school boards amalga- ma t e when Huron and Perth Counties joined together to become the Avon Maitland board in the late 1990s. "Computers are a big change I've seen. There was no such thing as a computer when I start- ed. And now, we have high-tech photocopiers," she says. "It was more varied work in a school, .working with teachers, principals and stu- dents. There was never a dull moment at a high school. But, I thought I'd like a change," she says. "Adeline's work ethic has not changed: she carries out her duties with never a com- plaint and is ready, willing, and able to perform the var- ied tasks assigned to her.
