Many old time songs performed
at Gospel Jubilee 2006 in Clinton
The weather is certainly
spring-like now in Winthrop.
The farmers are busy
planting their fields and the
grass is growing. Dandelions
and other early wildflowers
are putting in an appearance.
The birds are building their
nests and sitting on eggs.
Spring is a time of rebirth.
Rev. John's service at
Cavan United Church was
titled "The Crucifixion and
the Forgiveness of Sins."
Greeters and collectors
were Susan MacDonald and
Lorri Goos.-
Rev. John: performed the
Sacrament of baptism. Justin
William David Coward,
infant son of Jonathan and
Stacey Coward was baptized.
Justin is the grandson of
Carol and Dave McClure of
Brodhagen and great grand-
son of Glen and Marg
McClure, of Winthrop.
Susan MacDonald visited
with her parents in Ripley.
Ruth Campbell attended
the "Gospel Jubilee 2006" at
Ontario Street United
Church in Clinton.
Many "old time" gospel
songs were presented by
members of both United
Churches in Clinton.
Laura Elligsen of the
Brodhagen area contributed
four numbers. She has a love-
ly voice and has won several
vocal awards.
Another girl with a great
voice is Lindsay West, grand-
daughter of George Turner of
Clinton area. Three partici-
pants for the Clinton show
were also part of the enter-
tainers at Cavan's Cabaret.
