HomeMy WebLinkAboutHuron Expositor, 2006-04-26, Page 25Correspondence First meeting of the year welcomes new president for Bluewater Chapter Smiths return from two-week back -packing trip through Europe Angela Smith and her son, Jared of R.R. 1, Dublin, just got =ISM home from a two-week back -pack- ing trip in Europe. They toured Italy seeing the Coleseum and Roman Forum and the Leaning Tower of Pisa. They went on to Greece to see the Acropola and took a cruise to three islands. Their next stop was Paris to see the Eiffel Tower and many other sights including Euro Disneyland. Then it was off to Munich, Germany for some sightseeing before flying back to Toronto. They had a wonderful trip! Sympathy of Dublin is extended to Mary Kroskie of Windsor on the recent death of her brother, Matt Coyne, who died on April 15 at Ritz Lutheran Villa, Mitchell. Matt farmed in Hibbert Township for many years. Mass of the Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Dublin, on Tuesday, Apr. 18 by Rev. A minute's silence was observed in memory of Valena Trewartha and Dorothy Blake, former members who passed away recently. Appreciation was expressed to Gwen Stirling and Bob Fisher for their work during White Cane Week. Gordon Hill distributed pledge 4.4 lalkaik (,0:0111/'11 )1 the Blind r forms for the walkathon at Menesetung Trail on May 28. Funds collected from the walk will help CNIB clients and ser- vice workers. Donna Lubbers gave several entertaining selections on the key- board. Roll call was answered by naming one's favourite comedian. Marie Flynn played the keyboard for a singsong of familiar songs.
