Seven.year.old performer with the Huron Strings
highlight of the day for residents over March break
Residents of Maplewood Manor
were very pleased to see the month
of March "go out like a lamb" and
are glad to see. that the robins have
returned.
During the month, residents
enjoyed afternoons of piano music
with Carol Carter, Marjory Papple
and Bill Gibson.
Art and Eleanor Horst led in a
sing along and were accompanied by
Elgin Nott on the violin.
Residents were entertained by
members of the Huron Strings.
Seven-year-old
Joseph Flynn was
able to join the
group during March
break. The talents of this young fel-
low were the highlight of the day.
Jayne Walsh along with John
Zettel, Jim Delaney, Elgin Nott and
Alec Murray had residents full of
Irish spirit as they played for our
St. Patrick's Day party. Residents
especially enjoyed the step -dancing
and singing numbers by Kristen
and Evelyn Walsh, young daughters
of Jayne Walsh.
Carol LeBeau
entertained resi-
dents with many of
the good old favourites. Warren
Whitmore, Elgin Nott and Alec
Murray were happy to play along to
her piano music.
Church services for the month
were held with Pastor Steve
Hildebrand. Rev. John Gould and
Rev. Sue Malpus, Rev. Nick
Vandermey. Marjory Papple and
Virginia Elg were the organists for
our services. -
Residents welcomed their Grade 5
"Buddies" from St. James School
and enjoyed making leprechauns to
decorate their doors for St. Patrick's
Day.
Margaret Whitmore and Lois,
Hodgert were on hand for mani-
cures. with the residents. Everyo
also benefitted from the Foot Care'
Clinic that was held at Maplewood.
Other activities enjoyed by resi-
dents included crokinole, bingo,
euchre and exercises.
