Call our newsroom at 527-0240 Two girls' minor hockey teams heading to provincials Susan Hundertmark 01111111111111111 Seaforth'' Midget 2 and Atom 2 teams will have their final champi- onship games this week and' Seaforth's Atom B girls and Peewee C girls are heading to provincials April 7-9, as the 2005-06 minor hockey season winds down. The Atom 2 team 'had games Monday night against Hanover and Tuesday . night against Minto (results were not available by press time). If Seaforth won both games, the Atom 2 would win the White divi- sion in the Western Ontario Athletic Association (WOAA). The Atom 2 team had a regular season standing of seven wins, seven losses and four ties. The Midget 2 team had a game Monday night against Walkerton and play against Lucknow Thursday in an away game. The Atom B girls qualified to play in the provincials by winning a series against Walkerton two games to zero. In Western Ontario Girls' Hockey League (WOGHL) play, the Atom girls are currently playing against Ilderton to determine the champi- ons of the league. The Seaforth Peewee C girls qual- ified for the provincials by playing a round robin qualifier against Goderich, Stratford, Milverton, South Huron and Mitchell. In league play, the Peewee girls are currently competing in a round robin against Ilderton Nand Petrolia to determine the league champs. They finished the regular season at 10-6-2. The Bantam C girls did not quali- fy for provincials but made it to the second round robin in league play against Lucan, losing over the weekend two games to zero. The Seaforth tykes had a fun tournament last weekend where no scores were kept. Their regular sea- son record is 10-0-0. They still have a tournament com- ing up on April 8 and 9 in Mississauga. The Novice team lost in WOAA playoffs against Goderich. They fin- ished the regular season at 6-13-1. The Atom 1 team lost to Durham three games to zero in the playoffs, dropping to group play where they won two games to zero against Wiarton but lost against Lucknow two games to zero. The Peewee 2 team lost a round robin playoff against Milverton, Bayfield,- Clinton-Hensall (BCH) and Goderich. Their reg- ular season record was 10-2-5. The Peewee 1 team went to the quarter- finals, losing to Twin Centres three games to nothing. Afterwards, they lost to Chesley two games to nothing in group play. The Bantam 2 team lost in round robin play- offs against Harriston, Kincardine, Lucknow and Teeswater. They fin- ished the regular . season at 6-13-2. The Bantrm 1 team lost in the quarter -finals against Delhi three games to nothing and then lost in group play against Walkerton two games to nothing. Their regular season record was 8-5-3. The Midget 1 team lost to Twin Centres in quarter -finals three games to nothing. In group play they won three games to nothing against Zurich but then lost to Brussels two games to nothing.
