John's sermon was . titled "A Question in Search of an Answer - Agriculture. " He pointed out the changes in agriculture practices and what the fer- tilizers and pesticides have done to the soil. Ken Scott from Northside updated us on the Foodgrains project. The Winthrop Quartet sang "Jesus, You Have Come to the Lakeshore," Grace Dolmage was the greeter and Don Dodds assisted with the offering. Stephanie MacDonald told the story to the children. A special thank you to friends and family! Last week's ser- vice was followed by the annual meet- ing. Several items were brought up and dealt with. Doug Campbell and Brenda Dalton replaced Bob Campbell and Murray McCall on the Board of Stewards. two new elders were voted on to replace Dianne Anderson and Sandra Morey. Ann Bosman and Ruth Campbell were select- ed. Next Sunday's service will be followed by a brunch. Bob and Laurene Regele recently returned from an enjoyable trip to the Dominican Republic. They left on the stormy Monday so really enjoyed the 90° + temperatures at their destination. Warren and Judy Beuerman, Valerie Shortreed, Clyde and Cathy McClure recently returned from a holiday in Cuba. Their resort was on the northeast side of the island. They reported the food was good, the natives were friendly and helpful. The beaches are beautiful. They also toured the market and a cigar factory in Holguin as well as going horseback riding. They returned home last Friday to stormy and cold weather. FOOD FOR THOUGHT Diet is a matter of wishful shrinking. Sausage and eggs were enjoyed while they did some reminiscing. Lil Wilton of Caven Presbyterian Church in Exeter. Following the church service to cele- brate Valentine's Day, a social gathering was held with fruit and wine. The room was filled with the -ladies wearing their red hats and a game was played with everyone attempting to name as many songs as they could with the word "love." Music with the Christian Reformed Singers was enjoyed in the evening. Residents are preparing for an upcom- ing painting class after welcoming_a local artist who introduced the basics of paint- ing and the supplies needed, while inspir- ing everyone to choose their subject. On Friday afternoon, a unique taste testing party was held with samples from Epicure enjoyed by all. Fruit dips, laven- der cookies and loaf were tasted along with blueberry tea. Martin Gelinas was the featured music in the lounge Friday evening for the Friendship Friday program. This was his first performance with us and we hope the first of many. 4.
