Honeymoon in your paradise
By Mark Nonkes
When wedding bells chimed and the confetti was
thrown for the Chris Jermyn -Nicole Smith wedding
on June 4, 2005 the newlyweds couldn't wait to
head south.
"We've never been anywhere," said Nicole.
"We knew we wanted something all inclusive to
sit back and relax," Chris added.
After a year and a half of planning their wedding,
Chris and Nicole Jermyn exchanged rings at
Goderich Pentecostal Church and later celebrated at
White Carnation in Holmesville. Two days later
they boarded the plane for the Mayan Riviera in
Mexico with much excitement and anticipation.
According to travel consultant Sherri Coleman at
Carlson Wagonlit Ellison Travel the Jermyn's honey-
moon was a vacation that many married couples
take.
"You can do just about anything," Sherri said.
Sherri said newlyweds go all across the world on
their honeymoons, from Disneyworld to Europe just
to get away.
"Honeymoons are a getaway from everything, a
way to get over the stress," Sherri said.
For Gina Lobb and Mike Harris, who were mar-
ried in Clinton during 2004, a trip to Scotland was
taken to celebrate their nuptials.
"It's a place neither of us had been. and we both
wanted to go there," said Gina.
During their seven-day honeymoon, the couple
visited Scottish art galleries, historic sites and vari-
ous cities.
" It's a trip we'll never forget and a great way to
officially start our lives together," Gina said.
When it comes to a dollar figure, Sherri said a cou-
ple can spend from $2,000 to $10,000 on an out-of-
country
ut-ofcountry honeymoon.
"It really depends on where you want to go and
have a good time, we can look after every-
thing else," Sherri said.
For the Jermyn, the honeymoon was
filled with excitement and luxury.
"The resort was absolutely huge, the
food was incredible and the service was
amazing," Nicole said.
At the five-star Aventura Spa Palace,
the Jrmyn's enjoyed fine cuisine in
numerous restaurants, dancing les-
sons, a pool tournament, an evening
show with fireworks and a day -trips
to swim in the ocean.
"There's always something you can
do," Nicole said smiling.
The spot, which is very popular
with other honeymooners, was a
place to meet other couples who
were recently married. The
Jermyns reported that more than
400 other couples were staying at
• the high-end resort which combined
in Me
m° adventure and spas.
Like many other resorts, the Palace, offered
a complimentary honeymoon package. The Jermyns
wouldn't have had their honeymoon any other way
- with the endless options and excellent service it
was a great way to honeymoon.
"Definitely we'd do it again," Chris concluded.

what you want to do," Sherri said.
Sherri commented that the staff at Carlson

ple planning their perfect honeymoon. A travel
agency also adds peace of mind and eases some of
the burden during a time that is busy with planning
details, she added.
