"I've been to so many wed- dings with ministers who are very good at what they do and have the ceremony memorized, but I can almost recite it word for word by now. I wanted something more personal." Mason was included in near- ly every aspect of the ceremo- ny, saying "I do" to his own vow, receiving a ring to repre- sent Heather and Tyler's love for him and signing the reg- istry. "The only thing he really didn't do was the first kiss," Heather laughed. "Afterwards I asked him what his favourite part was and he said 'the ring.M To ensure all guests could attend, the day's events were held solely at the wheel chair accessible community centre. "Being wintertime, we want- ed to keep everything in the same place so no one had to drive," she explained. "Surprisingly, there wasn't a lot of stress worrying about the weather, because all of the main people were in town." Photos were taken at two outdoor locations near Blyth. Heather, Tyler and members of the wedding party also donned their skates and sticks for a few on -ice photos at the arena. The groom's pas- sion for hockey was also highlighted by tablecards featuring eight National Hockey League teams. Instead of the bride and groom kissing when guests tapped their wine glasses, the emcee asked guests to make a- donation to the annual Super Cities Walk for Multiple Sclerosis. "I thought we'd raise $40- $50 in toonies and loonies, but I couldn't even believe it when we raised $500. My mom was crying," said Heather, who participates in the walk each year for her mother. Pleased with the day's events, she encouraged other brides to step outside the box when planning their weddings. * Home Decor* Frames* Candles ictures* Unique Giftware * Throws, Quilts, Trunks* Lamps ecorating Consultations nd so much morel election of Hallmark Ca c.,KORNERs 33 Main St., Seaforth 527-1680 "We could have gone about it completely different, really focusing on New Year's with party hats and favours, but we didn't," Heather explained.
