Your wedding:
by Rob Bundg
Those of us who have done the deed,
proposed, gotten married, left on a
honeymoon, etc, have plenty of stories
to tell. And while some of those stories
might scare brides and grooms to be,
there are also lessons to be
learned...or, at least, laughs to be had.
I know when I planned to proposed
to my bride, I was very careful to keep
the ring hidden away from prying
eyes, ready to spring it on her and pop
the question when the moment was
just perfect. It was at sunset in Venice
when that moment arrived and when I
did finally pull out the little box with
the ring in it, she said, "Oh, I found
that in your stuff weeks ago. I won-
dered when you were finally going to
get around to showing it to me."
So much for the big secret.
And the wedding. We were married
twice (no, there was not a divorce
between!). The first time was on a
sailing ship off the coast of Australia,
organized as much as a publicity stunt
for the owners of the ship than a
desire to wed on the waves. Still, a
lovely ceremony, albeit attended most-
ly by guests we had never met before.
The second time we exchanged vows
was in a very small traditional church
in northern Alberta surrounded by
friends and family. It was also a beau-
tiful ceremony and there's a big advan-
tage to knowing your guests.
So, my advice to you, as you prepay
to propose and plan your nuptials is:
make it memorable, because you will
be telling those stories for years to
come.
Don't believe me? As proof, here are
some stories of proposals and wed-
dings from others.

ding story, the good and the bad!
Basically, my wedding was brought
to you by the internet, that is, eBay! If
you're a bride with a budget, this is the
place to go. Everything from designer
gowns to tiaras, flowers to favours,
can be bought there and pretty cheap-
ly. No one will know it wasn't really a
$50,000
wedding,
unless you
tell.
