To keep that diamond as bright as the day you bought it, a little care is required. Diamonds seem to attract grease and should be cleaned regularly to keep the sparkle. According to the Canadian Jewellers Institute, there are a few simple things you can do to assure the ring maintains its lus- ter. Clean with detergent 1 - Prepare a small bowl of warm suds with any mild liquid detergent. 2 - Rub the ring gently with a small brush (a toothbrush works very well) while the ring is in the suds. 3 - Move the ring to a wire strainer and rinse under warm, running water. 4 - Pat dry with a soft, lintless cloth. To clean in water alone 1 - Make a half-and-half solu- tion of cold water and household ammonia. 2 - Soak the ring and diamond for 30 minutes 3 - Lift out and tap gently around the front and back of the mounting with a small brush. 4 - Swish the ring round in the solution once more ariddrain on paper. A rinse is nonnecessary. Quick app To use the quick dip method, consider buying one of the brand name liquid jewelry cleansers with its kit and follow the instruc- tions.
