Sauce to Angeline Swart, of the Seaforth Food Bank. The case of food was part of the $560 worth of food donated to the food bank by McLaughlin. Over a 30 -day period McLaughlin put aside $5 from every oil change at his shop, which was used to purchase the food. As in the past, a group of stu- dents from St. Michael's Secondary School are going on a Poverty Awareness Trip to the Dominican Republic on Feb. 24 to Mar. 4. They are collecting goods to fill large, old suitcases and will deliv- er these "goods" to families in the Dominican. Audibly Awesome were the featured entertainment at the birthday party at Queensway Retirement Residence and Nursing Home on Jan. 26. Community seniors attending Queensway's dining program feasted on 'a delicious meal and then joined residents for the musi- cal program with Len Lobb, Richard Rose, Bill Strong, Richard Lobb and Graham Bowker, the talent that makes up Audibly Awesome. Andy Rau and his group made music in the Retirement Home Lounge for Friendship Friday Feb. 3. Featured entertainment for Feb. 17 will be Martin Gelinas and his family. Queensway residents, volun- . teers and staff were gratified that they were able to raise over $1,000 with their participation in the Alzheimers Walk for Memories at Exeter Hospital. Queensway's retirement residence is going strong with tenants enjoying many events and programs but the nursing home level has been closed as residents and staff deal with the "bug" that's been prevalent in the community.
