Wednesday of last week at Crediton

DEATH OF ALBERT K. FORD.,
The death occurred on June '14th
of a well known and. highly respected
resident of Exeter, in the person of
Albert K. Ford, at the advanced age
of 83 years, 4 month's., ,Deceased had
enjoyed the hest of, health' until about
two years ago, when he became af-
flicted with heart trouble, and his de-
cline was gradual siaoe that time.
Born In England he caane to Canada
with lis parents when"nioe years of
age and far many years, fanned in ,the
neighborhood of Exeter, retiring to
town about 30 years ago. He married
Ernily Snell who survives, together
with one san and one daughter, Her-
bert, of Exeter, and i\Irs. Haas of
Buffalo, who is a trained nurse and
had been in almost constant attendance
upon her father during his illness:
One brother, John, of Exeter North,
and one 'sister, Mrs. Samuel Stamlake,
also survive, The funeral which was
private, took place to the Exeter Cem-
etery on Saturday.
.Among those from a distance who
Attended the funeral were Mr. and
Mrs. Haas of Buffalo, Mr, and Mrs.
Fred. J. Hill, and Mrs, Geo, Vosper,
of Taranto, .Misses Sutton, and Mrs.

iation, and the games, went off in, fine
style, '
54 pairs of bowlers were , entered
and there was not a singe default,
A large number of then came !franc
the various London Clubs. This num-
ber was an increase of 22 1pa,ir ,over
last year. Rach rink played four games
and in order to avoid any delay the
Hensall greens were used for a few
gaanc's—with the result that every-
thing went along right up to schedule;
and the finals were completed before
11 o'clock .in the evening,
Owing to the large entry the cont-
mi,tteee yncreased the number of sets
of prizes from !four to six.
Four pairs won four games and two
won three with large; plus, so that the
six 'went into the finials—the highest
two pairs playing off for the South
Huron Trophy, and first and second
prizes; the next two pairs decided
to toss a coin for third and fourth
prices ; and the next two followed
suit. The result was the awards were
