Brussels beef processing plant is a golden
opportunity for Huron and Bruce communities
To the Editor,
There is an amazing opportunity
available to any who are interested
in investing in our agricultural
industry and our community.
That opportunity comes in the
form of the beef processing plant
proposed for the Brussels area.
Hats off to Huron East council for
their proactive approach. I trust
that the greater community will
support their efforts and please
remember we are allpart of that
'community.
This proposal will bring many dif-
ferent kinds of benefits to all of us
in Huron and Bruce County. There
are many voices expressing concern
about lack of funding, but govern-
ment funding is already a probabili-
ty; at least in part.
There is also much wealth in the
form of investment dollars avail-
able in the pockets of community
members to fund
this venture.
I challenge
all of us to take
up the reins and
run with this.
The money spent
may very well
turn an excellent
profit investing'.
Tested to -40°C. Driven through
hundreds of kilometres worth of
snow and icy roads. Cold -weather
ready, from the fuel systems to the
seat warmers. Advancements in
traction control and
powertrain refinements
offer improved performance
on snow and ice. AH because
every Ford vehicle line goes
through extreme -cold testing
before they ever get to you?
YOU WON'T FIND A BETTER WINTER -READY TRUCK, OR A BETTER VALUE.

in this plant, but . more importantly
we can be assured of our own
investment in the lives; of those
around us.
This is one of those golden oppor-
tunities that will see all our lives
improved.
Take up the challenge and don't
get lost in the nickels and dimes.
While nickels and dimes are
important, sometimes value is
found in things besides money. This
project will have a positive effect on
a lot of families.
Respectfully yours

awarding these people
when there's many people
that are so much more
deserving.
We should give out
awards each year to doc-
tors, nurses, police offi-
cers and firemen -those
who risk their lives for
others, or spend years
training, and work ridicu-
lous hours to help save
lives.
Or why not give awards
to those who work the jobs
that are less glamorous
and sometimes dirty, like
factory workers, miners,
janitors and garbagemen.
They are the ones that
deserve honour_. for superi-
or qualities and conduct.
These are the people we
should be showing our
gratitude towards, and
since nobody will be
rolling out the red carpet
for thein anytime soon, a
simple "thank you" will
surely do.
