The Hensall South Huron Agricultural Society will hold their annual meeting on Monday, Jan. 16 at 7:15 p.m. in the auditorium of Hensall arena. At Hensall United Church, Melissa Snyder was the minister and her message was "Room For Growth." The organist was Bill Gibson. The greeters. were Vern and Mona Alderdice. Mary Lou Hyde looked after the nursery. The reader was Barb Westlake Power. The ushers were Steve and Anne Marie McGregor. At Carmel Presbyterian Church Rev Gwen Brown was the guest minister. Former parish members reunite for night of laughter, celebration and fellowship "We never get to see anyone anymore" has been the statement echoed by many of the parish- ioners of the St. Columban parish family in the last six months since the church was closed in June, 2005. On Friday, January 6, they filled the local Knights of Columbus Hall to capacity in a community reunion filled with laughter, cele- bration, fellowship and "catching up" with each other. Games of progressive euchre were enjoyed by many, while the young adults hung out at tables talking, and young children coloured, played games or watched a video. No one starved as the pot luck dessert table was filled to over- flowing with many goodies. A good time was enjoyed by all pre- sent, and not to be easily forgot- ten. Lorraine and Kevin Denneny, along with their children, Jamie, Aaron and Jesse, and Lorraine's mother, Karen Mowat, have start- ed cooking. A brand new house has been the focus of interest as it is being built in St. Columban. Helen Nolan has recently moved to her new home in Seaforth. Her son and daughter- in-law, Eugene and Barb Nolan and family are building a now home at the site of Helen's former home.
