Axtmanns return from 10 -day vacation in California
that included watching the Rose Bowl parade
The Christmas day service at Cavan
United Church was conducted by Rev.
John. Title of the sermon was "What is
God Like."
The Alcock family lit the Advent can-
dle. During the service the sacrament of
baptism was observed when Sophia Faye
and Olivia Kaye Wascher, twin daughters
of Corey and Sandra Wascher (nee
McClure) were presented for baptism.
Greeters and collectors were Jim and
Ruth Axtmann.
The New Year's Day service at Cavan
was titled "The Quest of the Wise." Rev.
John led the service.
The last candle was lit by Danielle -and
Brenda Bernard and
Judy Beuerman.
Greeters and collec-
tors were Eric Anderson and Ruth
Campbell.
Christmas visitors with Don, Maja and
Paul Dodds were Ron and Lynn Godkin
and family and Joan and Brooks Prewitt
and Mary Roobal.
Christmas Day visitors with Doug and
Vicki Campbell and girls were Bob and
Ruth Campbell, Sandra and Terry Morey
and family, Lisa and Martin teBrinke and
boys, Pam and Todd MacDonald and
family, Diane and Jeff Howson and fami-
ly, Beatrice Campbell and. Marion Peck.

Gordon and Irma Pryce and Beth Pryce
spent Christmas Day with Bob Pryce in
Woodstock.
Christmas Day visitors with Don and
Maja Dodds and Paul were Fred and
Dorothy McGregor, from Brucefield.
Jan. 8 service at Cavan United Church
was titled "The End of the Beginning."
Greeters and collectors were Jim and
Diane Rapson. Brunch will be held after
the service on Jan. 29.
Ruth and Jim Axtmann have returned
from a 10 -day trip to California.
They were picked up by bus in Seaforth
and taken to Buffalo and then by plane to
Chicago and on to Los Angeles.
They watched the Rose Bowl parade in
Pasadena where most people were thor-
oughly soaked. The parade was beautiful
even though it was the first time in 50
years that it rained, actually poured at
times.
The temperature was about 65F. They
flew home out of San Francisco.
