Crime Stoppers encourages the public to anonymously report information on crime. The program's main goal is to reduce incidents of
crime in the community. Although Crime Stoppers is in the business of solving crimes, there is a Tong -range goal of crime prevention. A
community with an effective and successful Crime Stoppers program acts as a deterrent for would-be criminals. Crime Stoppers is a
"crime prevention" program that has the power to help solve any crime - not a "rat" program. Crime Stoppers exists for the better-
ment of the community they serve. _
