As it continues to struggle with
an ongoing deficit, the Huron Perth
Healthcare Alliance needs to look
back at its accomplishments of
2005, CEO Andrew Williams told
his board last Thursday.
"The deficit is still there but that
doesn't mean we should lose sight of
the good. things," he said during a
phone interview after the meeting.
Williams said one of the accom-
plishments he's proudest of is the
top marks in patient satisfaction in
the most recent releases of the
emergency department and acute
care releases of the hospital report.
"I'm always very pleased when we
score well in patient satisfaction.
That's a testament to the staff and
their commitment," he said.
Securing approval for -the $40 mil-
lion redevelopment of the Stratford
hospital site is also a highlight for
Williams.
"That has far-reaching benefits,
not just for Stratford," he said.

include having four Family -Health
Teams' announced in the Alliance
catchment area, receiving a replace-
ment CT scanner, successfully com-
pleting an accreditation survey,
partnering with the South Huron
Hospital Association for the provi-
sion of CEO s.ervices and . exceeding
the $1 million mark in funds raised
by the home oxygen joint venture,
Horizon ProHealth.

Canada to receive a Becton, Dickson
and Company safety recognition
award, receiving a certificate of dis-

Bank of Canada and receiving
funds to increase the capacity to
provide cataract and selected cancer
